I know he's an abusive jerk who I should be happy to have gotten rid of (as I dumped him) but a big part of me also really misses the person I thought he was.

Also as the abuse was via text when we were apart it's hard to reconcile this with the person who was so amazing to me in real life, to see it was all just manipulation.

As it was psychological abuse, rather than insults or physical abuse it's hard to really acknowledge, it's difficult to really recognize that it was abuse.
