My ex has no family (complicated) and hardly any friends.

His close friend who is much older was terminally ill and I do still think about my ex.

I am curious to know, would you still give someone a chance if you actually liked the person even if you knew that that person would be leaving soon to join the military?

The unfortunate reality of the situation is that he is joining the military, so any potential relationship we start up now could all just be for nothing.
